The Counseling Experience

"When you change the way you look at things,
the things you look at change."
-Dr. Wayne Dyer

Counseling is a type of learning...about oneself, one’s feelings, and one’s relationships with others. It is an opportunity to examine current beliefs, values, and perspectives to determine if these are serving you positively or if others might be a better fit.  You will benefit most if you attend scheduled sessions, participate actively, and are open and honest with yourself and your therapist during the counseling process.
When choosing me to be your therapist, you can expect that I too will participate actively, supporting your personal growth journey by listening with a nonjudgemental ear to your concerns, assisting you in setting and reaching your goals and respecting your confidentiality.

It is my goal to offer a compassionate and collaborative counseling experience, catered to each individual's needs.  I work with individuals, including children, adolescents, and adults as well as couples from diverse cultures, races, classes, sexual orientations, gender identities, backgrounds, and spiritual traditions.  I believe that our habits, beliefs, and perspectives are deeply shaped by our life's experiences and I value the opportunity to gain the insights and views of a diverse population.
